On the Write Path
My first and only trip to Hollywood, California was brief and quick in 2005. I was visiting the then-wife's family in Los Angeles. The trip was enjoyable, but I had no interest in show business at that time. No hint of future screenwriting success.
Flash forward to 17 years later, I'm quietly getting attention from various film festivals in Tinseltown. Several months later, I won the Special Jury award for my screenplay, Legal Passion, at the Hollywood Intenational Film Festival.
More importantly, I finished second and this is a qualifier for the International Movie Database.
Things changed for the better when Legal Passion won best screenplay at the Hollywood Academy Film Awards. Although not a qualifier for IMDB, winning in Hollywood is a huge accomplishment.
A huge difference from 2005. At that point in my life, I was a few months away from the worst natural disaster in U.S. history, Hurricane Katrina.
